Introduction
At Hyperfine, in addition to my product and UX/UI work, I also served as the primary resource for brand-related materials and general design guidance.
I conceptualized and created ideas and designs following brand standards across a wide range of print and digital media. These included instructional content, illustrations and iconography, promotional materials, publications, trade show booths, and assets for the web and social media.
Creating the Brand
Developing the company’s brand guidelines was the first major project of the Design Team. Brand colors, logo usage, typography, graphic styles, and photographic styles were defined.
Certain brand traits were the guiding force behind design decisions. As a start-up with a first-of-its-kind medical device, the brand needed to be advanced, clean, trustworthy, and approachable. These became the characteristics the brand would be held accountable to.
It was my responsibility to ensure standards were adhered to company-wide. However, the Style Guide was seen as a living document and was allowed to grow and adapt to company needs over time.
Applying the Brand
Now that the brand and its guiding ethos were defined, they could be applied across a wide variety of materials, both print and digital.
